Cory: My nine year old son and I drove down from our home in NJ to attend the Verizon Heritage tournament on Friday. It was our first golf tournament (as I now see that it was for you). Sometime mid-morning Friday he and I were standing near the practice green when you came up and started to putt. My son was standing by himself along the fence trying to get some autographs on the new hat we had just bought him and I was explaining to him why golfers put special marks on their golf balls. Your caddie was nice enough to give my son one of your golf balls (a Taylor Made) and shortly thereafter, you came by and signed his hat and talked to him for a minute. Since he is only 9 he does not know whether you are the best golfer in the tournament or are playing in your first tournament, nor does he really care, all he knows is that you are nice and gave him a ball. On the drive back to NJ yesterday, he told me that his three favorite golfers were Camillo, Todd Hamilton (who tossed him a signed glove) and you because you were nice, gave him a ball and talked to him.

Since I was not familiar with you I googled you this morning and found this blog and just wanted to take the opportunity to congratulate you on playing in your first PGA Tour event and also to thank you for helping make my son’s trip memorable. Even though you didn’t make the cut, you made a positive impact on someone. Thanks again good luck in the future and know that you have gained another fan here in NJ.

Schneider- Play well stud. Own that course, show it who's the boss (you, not tony danza), and if it doesn't listen remind it that your Cory Schneider from Sebring, Ohio.
